Summer Vacation 2012 -- The Drive Part 2

After our time in Florida we headed north. Our destination was Wellsville, NY. We took our time getting there, so we could see a Civil War battlefield, friends, and family along the way.

Lunch stop in Gainesville

 On our way north, we stopped in Four Oaks, NC to see the Bentonville Battlefield. Near the end of the Civil War Cara and Kiley's 4th great grandfather was shot and wounded here. Cara, disappointed that she couldn't meet him, wrote him a note and left it at the battlefield site for him.

We had a great time in Wellsville!

The trip home was pretty smooth. We traveled 14 hours the first day and around 11 the second to arrive home at 5:30 on Tuesday evening in 106 degree. We also got to stop in North Platte, NE to see friends on the last stretch of the journey.
